ABOUT ALEX LEVAY ATTORNEYS, PLLC
Bringing Compassion to the Practice of Law
As a lawyer who represents criminal defendants and injured people in Northern Virginia, Attorney Alex Levay has an innate ability to relate well to and understand the concerns of a broad spectrum of society. Maybe that’s just who he is and his outgoing personality, but it probably is also a result of his background and life experiences.
Alex Levay is a first-generation American. His father came to the United States from Hungary on a full scholarship to Wesleyan University in Connecticut. He arrived in this country with all of his worldly possessions packed in a crate. Mr. Levay’s mother is Peruvian and also came to this country as a young adult. His family's achievements have come through hard work and a vigorous pursuit of the educational opportunities that America has to offer.
Many others are not as fortunate. As a lawyer, Mr. Levay is uncomfortable with some of the intolerance we see in our post-9/11 world. He has unfortunately seen people in courtrooms who are treated differently on the basis of their skin color. He has seen judges ask "Are you legal?" before the defendant even has an opportunity to give his name. This is not right. As your lawyer, Mr. Levay will ensure that you are treated fairly.
A Reputation for Winning Cases
Early in his career, Mr. Levay developed a reputation for being able to win difficult cases. Juries can see that he is earnest and sincere; judges respect his preparedness and knowledge of the law; and his opposing counsel knows that they are dealing with a zealous advocate. His office is across from the Loudoun County courthouse in Leesburg, and he is in court every day. Today, Mr. Levay’s practice has expanded to include multiple attorneys.
Together, we are committed to working diligently and efficiently to achieve our clients’ goals. Our team approach improves the effectiveness of our legal services, providing more support for each and every case we handle.
Outside of his law practice, Mr. Levay has tried to be a consensus-builder on projects such as the Indigent Defense Task Force and the Indigent Defense Commission. He believes that people need to give back to their community and do more than focus on money. He is a past president of the Loudoun County Bar Association and the Hispanic Bar Association of Virginia and works on several bar committees to help improve the legal services provided to the less fortunate. Mr. Levay tries to bring a great deal of compassion to the work he does. Because of his background, he feels a kinship with people who have led tough lives and have little material wealth, as well as those who have achieved material comfort and security in life.
